Welcome Volunteers!
Thank you for taking part in making our Service Partnership events a success. Without your support and efforts these events could not take place. We appreciate everyone and the time you invest with us. The impact you can have on an individual during these events is hard to measure. You can be part of someone's first time making a great cast with a fly rod, their first time wading out in rushing water and their first trout on the fly! Please join us.......

TVA Media Event on the Toccoa River Thursday, May 23rd Mineral Bluff, GA
This will be our third trip to the Toccoa River and hosting the fly fishing day for TVA executives and guests. This is an all day event. We will need to load the trailer on Wednesday the 22nd and then leave the Knoxville area by 5:30 am. This is a 2 1/2 hour trip to our set up location on roads that you can't try and make up time. After we arrive we will set up our small canopy and organize our boots, waders and rig up the rods. A limited selection of flies will be furnished by TVA and a local fly shop. There will be breakfast pastries and coffee available in the morning. Lunch will be provide by TVA. GA Fish and Game will stock the river prior to the event. TVA folks will start to arrive around 9:00 am. We will need several to help with getting these folks outfitted, in the past we have offered to help with some casting instruction but time is very limited as fishing time is limited. After the event is complete and we have retrieved our equipment, if you want to fish on your own you can. The State of GA has not cut TVA a deal on non resident licenses. Last year the folks that held over and fished did not have any issues by not having a non-resident license. I wouldn't expect wardens to come in on an event such as this and check for a license. The event is pretty much over with by 2:00 pm and we will load the trailer and head home. This is a long day, but the effort is well worth it. TVA does a lot for our Chapter and this is a way for us to say thank you for the storage space provided at the lab in Norris. Just last year TVA gave us $5,000 in large part due to this type of event that we put on for them. They know that without the Clinch River Chapter that this event could not happen. We have a very valuable partnership with TVA and we want to maintain and grow this relationship.
